Jason Michael Carroll
Country music…. what me!
Well I’ve been living in America for over a year now, and though I’m sure that nothing will change my mind from being an indie fan, especially with great albums by the good the bad and the queen, and the view coming out this week, I decided to check out some country and western music.
I was prompted to do this after reading the list of top earners in the USA last year, and though the Rolling Stones were firmly at the top, there were two people I hadn’t even heard of; Imagine my surprise when I realised that they were not some cool dude rappers but country and western singers!
Anyway I found a website related to Jason Michael Carroll who is one of those country and western singer like people. I took a listen and on first listen, well it wasn’t that bad; I’ve definately heard worse things than Mr Carroll (Simon Carroll to begin with!). Anyway though it was pleasent enough, for me, it’s definately lacking the inspiration and power of bands like the Stone Roses and the Arctic Monkeys. In a way Jason Carroll reminds me a bit of hootie and the blowfish who I had the pleasure of walking out of when they played in Manchester; but that’s another story.
